Hosting Terms

These terms cover websites you publish through Sistine to addresses under sites.sistine.ai or connected custom domains (the "Hosting Service"). They supplement our Terms of Service. By clicking Publish you agree to them; if you don't agree, don't publish.

1. What the service is

The Hosting Service serves static files you upload from the Sistine app on infrastructure we operate. It is a convenience feature of the app, not a standalone product: there are no uptime guarantees, no service credits, and no promise of continued availability. Keep your own copy of your site (the app's Export a copy… does this); we may change limits, addresses, or discontinue the service with reasonable notice where practical.

2. Your content, your responsibility

Everything you publish is your content and your sole responsibility, including its legality, accuracy, and its compliance with the rights of others, in every jurisdiction where it can be viewed. We host it at your instruction as a passive intermediary; we do not review, endorse, or adopt it, and we are not the publisher or speaker of it. You represent that you own or have the rights to everything in your site, including text, images, fonts, code, and any names or trademarks it uses.

3. License you grant us

You keep ownership of your content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, cache, reproduce, and transmit it solely as needed to operate the Hosting Service (including on our infrastructure providers, such as Cloudflare). This license ends when your site is taken offline, except for short-lived caches and backups.

4. Prohibited content and uses

You may not publish or use a hosted site for any of the following. This list is illustrative, not exhaustive, and we, not you, make the final call on whether something crosses it:

Phishing, credential collection, or impersonating any person, company, or service. Password fields and forms that submit to third-party servers are blocked mechanically and are prohibited regardless of intent.
Malware, exploits, drive-by downloads, or content that damages or intercepts visitors' devices or data.
Content that is illegal where we operate or where it is directed, including CSAM (reported to authorities without notice), terrorism content, and sales of illegal goods.
Infringement of copyright, trademark, or other rights, including pirated content and unlicensed streams or downloads.
Fraud, scams, deceptive schemes, fake reviews or endorsements, market manipulation, or undisclosed advertising presented as fact.
Harassment, threats, doxxing, or content targeting private individuals.
Sexually explicit content, and any sexual content involving minors in any form.
Spam networks, link farms, cloaking, or traffic-laundering; reselling or white-labeling the Hosting Service itself.
High-risk regulated activity the service isn't built for: gambling, pharmaceuticals, financial services or investment offerings, or the collection of sensitive personal data (health, financial, government ID numbers).

5. Enforcement: automated first

Enforcement is largely automated, and you agree to this model by publishing:

Publish-time screening may reject files that match known abuse patterns, with a stated reason.
Visitor reports: every hosted site serves a report page at /__report. When enough distinct visitors report a site, it is suspended automatically and replaced with an "under review" notice, before any human looks at it. This will occasionally suspend an innocent site; that is a deliberate trade-off, and review is the remedy.
Our discretion: we may suspend or remove any site, at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these terms, legal risk to us, abuse-network involvement, or infrastructure protection. We are not obligated to warn first, to explain in detail, or to host anyone.

To contest a suspension, contact support@sistine.ai from the account holder. Reinstatement is at our discretion. Repeated or serious violations end your access to the Hosting Service and may end your app license under the Terms of Service.

6. Copyright complaints (DMCA)

We respond to copyright notices under the DMCA. Send notices identifying the copyrighted work, the infringing URL, your contact information, a good-faith statement, and a signature to our designated agent, registered with the U.S. Copyright Office (Registration No. DMCA-1079749):

We may remove content, forward notices to the publisher, and terminate repeat infringers. Counter-notices follow the DMCA's procedure.

7. Visitor data and forms

Hosted sites may include a contact form that submits to the built-in inbox. Form submissions are stored for the site owner to read in the app, capped in number, and not used by us for anything else. You are the controller of what your form collects: don't ask visitors for passwords, payment details, or sensitive personal data, and comply with the privacy laws that apply to your visitors. We count page views in aggregate (a number per day, no visitor profiles or cookies) to show you your site's stats.

8. Custom domains

Connecting a custom domain requires that you own or control it; you're responsible for your registrar relationship, renewal, and DNS. We may disconnect a domain that lapses, changes hands, or is used in violation of these terms. Removing a domain from a suspended or deleted site does not entitle you to any refund of app subscription fees.

9. Limits

Published sites are subject to technical limits stated in the app (site size, file count, file types, publish frequency, inbox size, and per-plan site counts). Limits may change. Exceeding them, or generating traffic that threatens the service, may result in throttling or suspension.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The Hosting Service is provided "as is" and "as available," with no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including availability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, lost business, or any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the Hosting Service, including from downtime, data loss, suspension (right or wrong), or the conduct of site visitors. Our total liability arising from the Hosting Service is capped at the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us for the service in the three months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limits; these apply to the fullest extent permitted.

11. Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify, and hold us (and our infrastructure providers) harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your published content, your use of the Hosting Service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of anyone's rights. We may assume the exclusive defense of any matter subject to indemnification, at your expense, and you agree to cooperate.

12. Changes and termination

We may update these terms; material changes take effect when posted here, and continuing to keep a site published is acceptance. You can take your sites offline at any time in the app. Provisions that by their nature survive (licenses for caches, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification) survive termination.
