These terms are an agreement between you and Looks Labs LLC, doing business as Sistine ("we") covering the SistineGPT macOS application and related services. By using the app you agree to them.
Sistine is a lab, and it makes more than one thing. Everything below is about SistineGPT, the Mac app, and its Private Cloud subscription, which Paddle sells as our merchant of record. The companies behind it are named in our privacy policy: Paddle for billing, Venice for the Private cloud path, Brave for web search, and Cloudflare, which runs our servers and this website.
Sistine, the market research app (called Sistine Path until September 2026), is a separate product, with its own page at sistine.ai, its own app and its own subscription, billed by Stripe rather than Paddle. Nothing you buy here buys any part of it, canceling one subscription does not cancel the other, and its own terms govern it, not these. It is a research tool: historical comparisons and projected paths are not reliable probabilities and not investment advice, which is the same rule as section 3 below.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Macs you own or control. The app and its artwork are our intellectual property; the license doesn't transfer any ownership in the software or the Sistine artwork.
Paid plans for SistineGPT are sold by Paddle, our merchant of record, and renew monthly until canceled. You can cancel any time, effective at the end of the billing period. Plan limits (hosted AI usage, searches, features) are described on the product page and enforced by our servers, not by the app on your Mac; hosted allowances are monthly caps, not guarantees of continuous availability. Refunds are handled per our refund policy.
The paid plan sold today is Private Cloud. The Search, Pro and Max plans are closed to new subscriptions. If you are already on one, you keep the plan, its price and its allowance until you cancel.
What does change for a Pro or Max subscriber: cloud replies now come from the one sealed model the Private cloud path runs, the same model the $19 plan gets. Pro was sold as "the best available model", and that is no longer a different model from the one everyone else is answered by; the allowance is still larger. If that is not what you are paying for, cancel in Settings → Plan and write to support@sistine.ai for a refund of the current period, or move to Private Cloud.
The app generates content with AI (local models on your Mac, and optional hosted models). AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or outdated. It is provided for information and convenience only and is not professional advice, not medical, legal, financial, investment, or tax advice. Verify anything that matters, and consult a qualified professional for decisions in those areas.
Our relay ("Sistine Cloud" where these terms need a name for it) carries your message; it does not write the reply. The reply is written by an AI provider we hold an account with; the providers in use are named in our privacy policy, and we may change them. Because you are using our account, our agreements with those providers require us to pass their rules on to you. When you use Sistine Cloud you agree not to:
These rules apply in addition to section 5, and they are minimums: where a provider's own acceptable-use policy is stricter, the stricter rule applies to your use of Sistine Cloud. The disclaimers in section 6 and the limits of liability in section 7 apply to our AI providers as well as to us, and each provider may rely on them directly.
As between you and a provider, Looks Labs LLC remains primarily responsible to that provider for use of our account, including yours. You remain responsible to us for your own breach of the rules above, and if a question arises you agree to raise it with us rather than with the provider.
No provider guarantees availability to us. A provider can change, restrict or withdraw a model with little or no notice, and we may change providers at any time. When a provider is unavailable, replies fall back to the model on your Mac. Hosted allowances are monthly caps on what a subscription may cost us, not guarantees of continuous availability.
Content you create in the app (your messages, the documents and images you attach, and your Instructions) stays yours. It is stored on your Mac; our privacy policy says what leaves it, and to whom. If you point the app at an AI service of your own, you are responsible for complying with that service's terms, and the key you enter is stored in your macOS Keychain.
Don't use the app to break the law, infringe others' rights, harass, or attempt to compromise our services or other users. Don't redistribute, resell, or reverse-engineer the app except where law permits.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Looks Labs LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (or $50 if you paid nothing).
You can stop using the app at any time. We may suspend access to online features (hosted AI, search) for abuse or non-payment. Sections 3, 3a, 7, 8 and 10 survive termination.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here and noted in the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Questions: support@sistine.ai.
